SIX EXCITING HOME GAMES THIS WEEK FOR THE SLAMMERS

Come join the Slammers for giveaways, fireworks and more…

As summer continues, so does the fun at Silver Cross Field.

The Joliet Slammers return home Tuesday for six home games against the Road Warriors and the Rockford RiverHawks.

Tuesday the Slammers are giving away a garden gnome of their lovable mascot Spikes to the first 1000 fans through the gates courtesy of the Will County Health Department’s “Get the Lead Out” campaign. Some area mascots will be on hand for Mascot Olympics and it’s a Spikes’ Super Students Reading Program Night presented by Aurelio’s Pizza. Kids can redeem their vouchers for a free spot on the berm. It’s also Local Heroes Night as the Slammers salute the area police and firefighters with a fundraiser through Big Brothers and Big Sisters of Will County. First pitch is at 7:05 p.m. and fans can purchase two hot dogs or two sodas for the price of one. After the game all kids get to run the bases! All students can show their student I.D. at the Box Office and purchase a reserved seat for only $5. It’s also a “Sweet Suite” Night so fans can purchase a 22-person luxury suite including food for only $450.

Wednesday is Military Appreciation Night at the yard. Active and former military members will receive half price reserved seat tickets at the Box Office with a valid military I.D. as the Slammers salute their service to our country all night long. AT&T will give away free domestic calling cards to the first 400 U.S. military active service men and women or U.S. military veterans with a paid admission to the game who stop by their concourse table.

AT&T Illinois employees are grateful for the sacrifices that military personnel make on behalf of the nation,” said Paul La Schiazza, President, AT&T Illinois.  “We are proud to donate these domestic calling cards to Veterans and active military service men and women as a small way to thank them for all they have done and all they continue to do for all of us in this great country.”

For more than 85 years, AT&T has remained dedicated to supporting active military personnel, their families and veterans through charitable contributions, event and program sponsorships, hiring of military veterans and maintaining policies that support reservists when called to active duty.

Stay late Wednesday for a spectacular fireworks show! Wednesday is the final Spikes’ Super Students Reading Program Night presented by Aurelio’s Pizza. It’s the last chance for kids to redeem their vouchers for a free spot on the berm. First pitch is at 7:05 p.m. and if the Slammers win all fans in attendance win a free ticket to Fan Appreciation Night on Sunday, August 26.
