If you are looking for a program for your special needs child to play baseball, then look no further, The Miracle League of Joliet is here for them.
The Miracle League of Joliet is located in the confines of Silver Cross Field, where the Slammers play! We are the first Miracle League field to be located in the confines of a professional baseball stadium.
The Miracle League is a non-profit organization that enables special needs children to play baseball on a rubberized turf field, thus removing obstacles that would ordinary be there on a grass field. We provide an opportunity for the children ages 4-19 to play baseball, regardless of their ability. The Miracle League organization has over 250 fields across the United States.
The game is a non-competitive where each player during the 2-inning game
- Bats each inning
- Runs the bases (with the aide of a buddy, if needed)
- Scores (there are no outs)
- Everyone wins
The Miracle League in Joliet has been having games (2-six week season, spring and fall per year) since 2008.
