How can I have a birthday announced on the PA system?
While at the game, simply go to the ATI Information Booth located down the 1st base line behind section 105 before the end of the 5th inning. For a $10.00 donation to United Way, we will take your request for your special PA announcement.
Scoreboard announcements are specifically reserved as a benefit for groups. To reserve a group or find out about our special birthday packages call the Slammers offices at (815)722-2287.
Does my child need a ticket?
Children 2-years-old and younger do not require a ticket, but must sit on the lap of a ticket holder. If your child will require a seat, you will need to purchase a ticket at the box office.
What if it starts to rain during the game?
If it starts to rain while a game is in progress, the grounds crew (and front office staff) will cover the field if it is necessary to keep the playing surface suitable for play. The game will then enter a rain delay. During this time, team officials will pay close attention to the weather and the forecast for the remainder of the game. After a reasonable amount of time, team officials will decide if the weather has improved and is suitable for play or if the game should be declared a rainout.
If the teams have played five innings or more (or if the Slammers are leading after four and a half innings of play) and a rainout is declared, the game is considered an official game. In other words, the game is finished, the game has a final score, and play will not continue at a later date. On the other hand, if a game is rained out before being declared an official game, you should hold onto your tickets, since they can be redeemed for tickets to a future game.
If a game is postponed due to weather, what do I do with my tickets?
Hold onto your tickets. In the event that the game is postponed due to rain, simply exchange your tickets at the Silver Cross Field Box Office for any remaining regular season home game this season, subject to availability.
If you purchased tickets as part of a group (group tickets, picnics, and suites), hold onto your tickets and return them to your group leader. The Slammers will personally contact the group leaders to inform them that the game has been postponed. The Slammers will then work with the group leaders to reschedule each group’s event. Group leaders will be required to exchange their tickets from the postponed date, so it is extremely important for you to hold onto your tickets. Again, the Slammers will not give any cash refunds.
What if the weather doesn’t look so good, but I haven’t heard that the game is postponed?
Please note that the decision to postpone a game due to weather is typically made close to the game’s scheduled start time. Team officials pay close attention to the weather leading up to game time and make every effort to keep the field ready for play. Unless the weather prior to game time is particularly severe or the forecast reveals that inclement weather is inevitable, team officials will plan to play the game as scheduled.
In light of this, the Slammers ask for your patience and encourage you to use the three methods described below to check on the status of the game. If none of the below have announced that the game has been postponed, the game will be played as scheduled.
How do I check on the status of the game?
There are three different ways you can check on the status of a Slammers game:
1. Listen to WJOL 1340
WJOL 1340 AM is the flagship radio station for the Joliet Slammers. If the game is postponed due to inclement weather, WJOL 1340 will make an announcement.
2. Check the Slammers home page at www.jolietslammers.com
If the game is postponed due to inclement weather, the top story at the Slammers’ home page will be the announcement that the game is postponed.
3. Call the Slammers at (815) 722-2287.
Where do I park? How much to park?
Parking is available at the Metra lot, the Will County Court House lot, either of the city parking garages and street parking throughout downtown Joliet. Parking maps are available at Silver Cross Field.
ALL parking for night games is FREE! Parking for day games is subject to city ordinances.
